I was just informed today that my painting, a lucky charm, will be included in Ballistic Publishing's next book, Exotique 3. This is quite an honor and I am very excited!
I would like to thank the good folks at Ballistic Publishing for including me in their wonderful books!

so now you know what I've been doing for the last week. the new look was delayed a bit by my computer which seems to carry a significant grudge or something against me.
anyway, this update is more cosmetic than the last one. the most important adjustment I made was centering the site design as oppossed to aligning on the left. this was bugging the hell out of me when viewing images in the gallery.. larger images would get pushed off to the right and require scrolling on the horizontal scroll bar. HATE using the horizontal scroll bar.
and of course I added a Flash navigation. the old nav didn't work right in Firefox so this is a nice change.

okay, I think the 'update' is now done.
I did a lot of reorganizing of sections and changes in the code. mostly things that just bugged me. like on the gallery page how far you had to scroll down for one column.. it was a fun idea but annoying in practice. and I reorganized the links page to something easier and faster to navigate.
I also fixed it so people browsing the site behind certain firewalls will be able to see the images. this problem was happening because of my method to prevent external linking of images (yes, this is a big problem, even for my little website). everything should be green now.
and of course, I added some new images and some new links.

uploaded a bunch of drawings to the daily. I need to paint more...
still trying to learn the piano.. my latest attempt at moonlight (still need proper recording setup):

I make it through to about the 25th measure and then mess up beyond repair. actually recording my playing is... hard. I always mess up.

Well this has certainly turned into a fun/interesting few week period for me. And a bit more work than usual..
Firstly, I won the MAG for April. So now I'm scrambling to come up with something to feature! Hopefully I'll get something together in time...
Secondly, I got a piano a couple weeks ago! Very exciting as I've always wanted to learn. Outside of work, spending time with family, and drawing, all other available free time has been going into this thing. And you know what? I still stink. (-:
But anyway, I was fortunate enough that my piano (a digital piano btw, certainly no way I could afford a real grand) came with a book of sheet music, all the advanced stuff of course. But included was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, quite possibly my favorite all time song, even as far back as when I was a wee little kid.
So needless to say, my first night I started trying to learn it. No easy task considering I only just started to learn to read music the same night.
But anyway, through the magic of a round-about-way (I need to get a proper wire for plugging into the computer, this sounds pretty bad), I've made a recording of what I've learned thus far. This is just the right hand, though I can play the left hand for these measures, it comes out with a bit more pausing. I just wanted to hear what this sounds like as a listener and not a player.
And I said, "what the heck!," I'll put it on the website too just because I like to embarrass myself...

Oh and by the way, most of what I'm drawing at the moment is work related or MAG related. So I won't be posting anything for a few more days. I expect to make an 'art dump' by the 15th or so though.

okay.. so for christmas I got World of Warcraft... and consquently all my free time sort of poof'd 'n stuff.
but, a month later I'm starting to balance the whole thing out again: work, play, drawing.
oh there just aren't enough hours in the day...

Okay.. so I finally wake again. No really what happened was I had to format and reinstall windows 'n stuff a few weeks ago (a process I dread because of all the stuff I have to setup on my machine) and well.. I lost my passwords 'n stuff to update my pages. And I only just now got around to resetting them. Is that funny or what?
Yeah, I'm not laughing either.
But well the good news is I'll be uploading some more pictures soon. Well, on second thought.. I guess whether or not that's good news or not is subjective. d:
Anyway.. happy holidays and all that.

okay so, drawing stopped again there.. only have so much free time and it was getting sucked up by a *cough* game.
on a related note, Morrowind is worth checking out. it's not quite Daggerfall, but the open-endness of the game is quite neat. much more entertaining than the main story. and the visuals are very pleasing. the gimic of course, the thing is about as stable as Daggerfall (read: crashes freequently).

yet another 'break' from drawing. I don't do these by choice. I get side tracked with things like work and have trouble keeping any kind of rhythm going.

Yeah okay so it's been a while since I did anything. Would you believe in my absence I've moved twice, one move being 2k miles, found work, and got a new drawing tablet?
So after all that mess.. it's time to get back to doing the daily.

So in the middle of an important job my computer decides to clunk out on me... only just now I get it back working again and ta da, now I'm moving from OR to MO. I'm thankful for a patient client here..
Anyway, going to be a while still before I get back to drawing as my art stuff is now packed in boxes. And after I move I gotta get back to work asap.
Well, that's all... I'm MIA until further notice.

Okay so I disappeared for a minute (couple of weeks). Who's watching? (-:
Been hard at work with a non-drawing type job and will continue to be so for a while yet. So my drawings will no doubt continue to suffer until then. But it's all good (I don't actually use that phrase in real life).
