I was just informed today that my painting, a lucky charm, will be included in Ballistic Publishing's next book, Exotique 3. This is quite an honor and I am very excited!

lack of updates due to illness. just getting over a bug of some sort (still have a soar throat from it), hopefully it's not something that'll require a doctor.
Anyway, it was really annoying going through this because I kept dreaming that I was painting a picture of some sort. This turns out to be very painful and irritating with a pounding headache, you know, trying to keep track and remember each brush stroke and color as you go.
And no, no ideas for pictures came to me, though I think I was constantly dreaming about sailing boats.

Had a bit of a snow storm go through. 14"-16" inches around the area. That is far and away the most snow accumulation I have ever seen. So much snow I actually have to go out a shovel it. Fun! No, really! I've always wanted to have to shovel snow! Better than that, gotta go dig out the car, literally.
I need to rig this thing up so I can include pictures with it...

Okay, so fun stuff. Turned my machine on and everything is non-functioning. Tried to fix it and recover, and only made it worse. So I got to spend most of my time formatting and reinstalling windows, yada yada. Was a very productive day (not).

I'm in the middle of a crash course of sorts on 3d modeling. It's not so bad, modeling that is. It kind of reminds me of putting together those model kits I used to do as a kid. Of course, I was never very good at 'em. I really just liked playing with them once they were all glued together. heh

Yeah so I haven't been drawing much lately. Anything and everything has been keeping me away from the computer here. Trying to get my act together before it's too late though..
Anyway, my eldest sister is coming to town for a visit tomorrow. I'm rather excited. It's been a few years already since last I saw her. So this week should be fun.

So I got my first digital camera recently. The intent was to use it to help study composition (both of subject and color), value, and various subject matter.
I don't believe I would ever get to a point where I might call myself a photographer; but just the same, I've been taking lots of pictures of everything around me and it's kind of fun. I'd recommend it.
I was debating whether or not I should put a place in my gallery for photos... but I think maybe I should hold off until I feel I am actually producing something worth looking at. My gallery is already chucked full of crap. /-:

Alright so, to give you an idea of just how far behind I am...
Over the weekend, a Gamecube finally entered the house. This is the first new console since the N64 back in the late '90s. We got Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Windwalker, and Mario Kart: Double Dash. So far, I'm not disappointed with any of them.

Hmm, I moved the 'news' under the rants here ... I wonder if anyone will ever see it now. I wonder if anyone ever read it at all? ...
So anyway, yesterday while working on the site I got side-tracked and spent an hour and a half browsing through just about every drawing I've saved on my computer here. So that's stuff that spans nearly 5 years back. All I can say is, 'wow.'
Now don't get me wrong, I think I still suck. But after looking through my old stuff from way back to present day, the improvement is obvious and significant. Even from just a year ago.
I bring this up because lately I haven't exactly felt like I was improving anymore. But after looking through my archive, I realize that a) this isn't the first time I've felt this way, and b) I have here proof that I am still improving.
So really it isn't whether I'm still improving or not, it's about when will I ever actually get 'good.' bleh
